Constellations #3 - ADR Projects

Constelaciones is a series of encounters that invites architecture and design studios to reveal the origin of their thinking not through the result, but through what makes it possible: the web of experiences, influences and ways of living that give meaning to how they design.

On Thursday 17 September, ADR Projects will build their own constellation, a personal map to understand what inspires them, what drives them, and how they have built a way of understanding architecture deeply tied to people, landscape and the experience of dwelling.

Born from friendship, family and the will to create a made-to-measure way of living, ADR Projects is a young studio that has turned architecture into a shared life project. Their work is defined by a particular sensitivity toward the environment, and toward designing and building contemporary spaces connected to the Mediterranean, where nature, wellbeing and lifestyle come together naturally. More than a company, ADR has built a team culture based on trust, closeness and shared ambition.

The studio is led by architects and founding partners Raquel Güell, Adrià Tortajada and David Tortajada. Adrià specialises in new-build and renovation projects, with a strong sensitivity for design, landscape integration and guiding projects from initial idea through to execution. David, for his part, focuses on site management, project management and team coordination, bringing a perspective closely tied to construction realities, problem-solving and direct client relationships. Raquel handles team management and client relationships.

Their universe of references steers away from academic discourse and architecture's big names. ADR finds inspiration in well-resolved projects, in travel, in buildings they've visited, in conversations with industry professionals, in sport, in contemporary visual culture, or in everyday discoveries that can appear at any moment. An open, close-up way of looking that reflects how they work and how they understand architecture.
